Our mission

Institutional-grade research, for every investor.

Before every earnings report, the market knows less than it will a day later. The numbers that will move the stock exist, but the company hasn't released them yet. Talakay is built for that window. It brings the evidence, the argument and the accountability of a professional research desk to anyone making an investment decision, for the next quarter and for the years after it.

The problem

Plenty of data. Not enough analysis.

Investors today aren't short of information. What they're short of is the time and structure to turn it into a decision they can defend. We kept running into three gaps:

Data without analysis

Terminals and screeners hand you numbers: filings, consensus estimates, options chains, headlines, each in its own tab. Turning them into a view is still your job, and doing it properly takes hours for every name.

Reasoning without context

General-purpose AI can reason well, but it answers from what it was trained on. It doesn't know this morning's options pricing, last month's insider sales or next week's consensus estimate, and it rarely tells you what it doesn't know.

Calls without a record

Most investors can't say how their last twenty calls turned out, or why. Without a record there's no way to learn from the misses, or to tell skill from luck in the hits.
The anchor

Uncertainty peaks before the report.

In the weeks before a company reports, the information gap is at its widest. Analysts are estimating, options are pricing a move, and the facts that will settle it are still inside the company. A report is also the one moment a short-term view can be checked against reality.

So every Talakay analysis ties its short-term outlook to the company's next earnings release, and pairs it with a 12–36 month research thesis on whether the business is worth owning at all: its moat, its catalysts and its risks. One view gets graded within weeks. The other covers the decision that matters over years.

Our answer

One place for the evidence, the argument and the record.

All the evidence, gathered when you ask

Company fundamentals, SEC filings, consensus estimates and earnings history, the move the options market is pricing, news sentiment, insider transactions, and the economic releases around the report date. Everything is fetched when you run the analysis, not recalled from memory. If a figure can't be found, the analysis says so.

Analysis that has to argue

A Bull agent and a Bear agent build opposing cases from the same evidence. A Quant agent reads the numbers and the options market. Turn on cross-examination and they must answer each other's strongest points. A Consensus agent weighs what survives into a short-term outlook and a long-term thesis.

A record that keeps you honest

Every short-term call is written down before the company reports and scored after it, including the misses. Each result sits beside a simple baseline, so luck doesn't pass for skill. Each scored call gets a post-mortem of what went right and what went wrong. Only your last call before each report counts, so re-running a company can't improve your record. Once you have enough scored calls, Talakay can show you where your record is strong and where it isn't.
Your seat at the table

Not a report you read. A discussion you're in.

Most research tools hand you an output and stop. Talakay is built around the analyst, because your judgement is often the most important input to the analysis.

Before the debate: bring your thesis

Write down what you believe and why: a view on margins, a concern about a segment, a number you think the street has wrong. Your thesis enters the debate as a case of its own. The agents have to engage with it, test it against the evidence, and say where they agree and where they don't.

After the debate: question the Consensus

When the analysis is done, the conversation isn't. Chat with the Consensus agent, which keeps the full debate as context. Ask why it weighed one argument over another, push back on a conclusion, or ask what would change its mind.

Research with your perspective in it

It isn't a black-box answer or a summary you have to take on trust. It's an analysis that combines the evidence, the opposing cases and your own view, and shows you how each one shaped the conclusion.
Bring your own

Your models. Your data. Your process.

Talakay works with the tools and information you already have, rather than asking you to give them up.

Choose your model

Talakay runs on Google Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic models. Add your own API key for any of them and your analyses run on your account, with the model you choose. With your own key, cross-examination and tool-using agents are available on any plan, because you're covering the model cost.

Bring your data subscriptions

Already pay for NewsAPI, Alpha Vantage or EarningsAPI? Add those keys and every analysis on your account uses your subscription first, with the coverage and limits you're paying for.

Bring your holdings

Upload your portfolio as an Excel, CSV, Parquet or JSON file. Talakay reads your positions, shows when each next reports, and sends any of them straight into analysis. Your holdings stay private to your account.

Bring your view

Your own thesis enters every debate as a case the agents must engage with (see Your seat at the table).

Coming next: your proprietary data

Connect your own databases and data feeds, and upload internal research documents, so the agents can read your firm's data alongside public sources. On our roadmap.

Kept secure

Every key is encrypted at rest and never shown in full again once saved. Your holdings and research never go to analytics or to your team.
Who it's for

Built for the people who have to make the call.

Portfolio managers

Upload your book, see which holdings report in the next few weeks, and run the names that matter in one batch. You can schedule it during market hours so the options data is live.

Research analysts

Put your thesis in front of a committee whose job is to argue with it, then question its conclusions in chat, before you put it in front of your PM.

Independent investors

Get the structure of a professional process without a research department: the evidence, opposing cases, a call written down in advance and an honest scorecard.

Research teams

Share one plan. Each analyst's research stays private. The team lead sees how many analyses each person ran and how accurate they were, never which companies they looked at.
Principles

How we hold ourselves to account.

  • A lean, not a verdict. The reasoning comes first. The agents' confidence is shown as what it is: self-reported.

  • Graded on the record. Every call is scored against what actually happened, the bad ones included.

  • Unavailable means unavailable. When a figure can't be found, we say so rather than guess.

  • Your research is yours. Your holdings, tickers and notes are never sent to analytics, and they aren't shared with your team.

  • A starting point, not advice. Talakay helps you make a better-informed decision. The decision is still yours.

Roadmap

Where Talakay is going.

Talakay covers US-listed equities today. These are the things we're working toward next. They're on our roadmap, not in the product yet, and we'll say so plainly until they ship.

From research to portfolio

Planned
  • Portfolio optimization: Turn the debate's views on each holding into position sizing and rebalancing suggestions that respect your constraints.
  • Portfolio-level risk: See how a book's upcoming reports cluster by sector and date, and where one print could move several positions at once.

Broader coverage

Planned
  • Global equities: Markets beyond the US, with local filings, reporting calendars and currencies.
  • Earnings call transcripts: What management said, and how it changed from last quarter, as evidence in the debate.

Your edge, in the debate

Planned
  • Custom factor models: Bring your own factors (value, quality, momentum, or your proprietary signals) and have the Quant agent argue with them.
  • Your own research documents: Upload internal notes, models and memos, not just a written thesis.
  • Proprietary data connections: Connect your own databases and data feeds as sources the agents can read.
  • Custom agent mandates: Tune what each agent looks for, to match your firm's process.

Research that keeps up

Planned
  • Thesis tracking: Re-run a company and see what changed since the last analysis, and why.
  • Alerts: Be told when a holding's report date moves, or when a thesis's key assumption is challenged by new data.

For teams and institutions

Planned
  • Shared workspace: Shared history, portfolios and track record for a desk that wants them.
  • Single sign-on and an audit log: For firms that need them.

The name

Talakay: a discussion, a deliberation.

The name means an open discussion where every side is heard before a decision is made. That's what the product does: it puts a company on the table and argues it out with you, before you decide.

Talakay is a research aid, not investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
